Up for bid is a Victorian sterling silver ladies calling
card case / change purse with wrist chain. The case is 3 1/2 inches long by 2 ½
inches wide by ½ inch thick and weighs 79 grams. It is hinged at the bottom and has a press tab
catch on top. It has a 12 inch link
chain attached to the top edge. The
piece is decorated front and back with a mock-etched scroll pattern border. The interior has its original pale blue
fabric accordion dividers, as well as a calling card from the original owner. It is not monogrammed. It is marked “STERLING-A” on an inner edge of
both sides as shown.
Condition on the case is fairly good. There are a few small dents, and it gaps a
bit at the edges though it closes well. The
interior has some tears and fraying as well.
Still a nice old card case / purse.
